A number of study loans provided by banks in Malaysia are available for students to finance their higher education.
Al-Falah Education Financing
A scheme developed to assist Malaysian students wishing to continue their tertiary education either locally or abroad, Al-Falah Education Financing offers financing for various educational courses, and includes an easy repayment programme.

Eligibility criteria
Malaysian citizens aged 18 to 60 who have not been declared bankrupt are eligible to apply for the loan. This financing applies to both part-time and full-time students. Students without fixed income must apply through parents, spouse, siblings, or legal guardians.
Loan coverage
The financing covers tuition fees, cost of living, and the purchase of textbooks and other educational aids.
How to apply
Applicants are required to complete the application form available at any Bank Rakyat branch and submit the application form together with photocopies of relevant documents as required by the bank. Application forms can also be obtained from the Student Services at APIIT.

RHB Study Loan
RHB Study Loan covers full-time and part-time courses approved by the Ministry of Education and Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam for both local and overseas education.

Loan coverage
The loan covers course fees, related expenses and insurance premium.
How to apply
Applicants must complete the application form available at any RHB Bank branch and submit the application form together with photocopies of relevant documents as required by the bank. Application forms can also be obtained from the Student Services at APIIT. Students must apply for this loan jointly with their parent, brother, sister, spouse, or children.

BCB Study Loan
BCB Study Loan, which covers up to 100% financing for school fees, comes with minimum processing fees and longer repayment period. The loan is applicable for any local or foreign courses that are recognised by the Ministry of Education and Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam.

Eligibility criteria
The loan is applicable for full-time and part-time diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate local and foreign programmes that are approved by the Ministry of Education and Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam. The applicant must be a Malaysian above 18 years of age with a joint borrower.
Loan coverage
The loan covers up to 100% of tuition fees only.

U Education Loan
U Education Loan is an attractive and specially designed loan to finance qualified full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing a degree (or its equivalent) at accredited educational institutions.

Eligibility criteria
All full-time undergraduate and part-time postgraduate students at any accredited educational institutions are eligible to apply for this loan. For full-time undergraduate courses, the applicant must be a Malaysian aged 18 to 25 with a guarantor under 55 years of age who have a minimum earning wage of RM36,000 per annum.
Loan coverage
The loan covers up to 100% of tuition fees. In addition, for undergraduate students, the loan also finances living expenses of RM150 to RM300 per month during the period of study.
