About APIIT
The Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) was initiated by the Malaysian Government to address the critical shortage of IT professionals in Malaysia and the region. Supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment and funded by the Sapura Group, APIIT was envisioned to provide IT education and training programmes of international standards, and to develop into a regional centre of excellence.
APIIT is the leading provider of IT Academic programmes in the country, producing more than 1,200 graduates annually. At the same time, more than 3,000 people receive training annually through APIIT's Corporate Training programmes. A powerful synergy thus exists between APIIT's Corporate Training and Academic programmes, ensuring that APIIT remains firmly focused on its vision to bridge the ever-present IT skills gap.

APIIT's professional IT certification programmes enable participants to obtain industry-recognised credentials that signify proven levels of knowledge for specific products. These include Microsoft MCP, MCSE, MCSD, MCSA, MCAD & MCDBA Certification and Sun Certifications for Java technology.
As an approved Prometric Testing Centre, APIIT provides participants with the convenience and facilities to register and sit for relevant online IT certification examinations.
Flexible Training Solutions
Flexible training options are available - these include public programmes, customised training and on-site training.
While APIIT offers an extensive range of standard, public programmes regularly scheduled on a fixed calendar, it realises and addresses specific organisation needs which require some degree of customisation, and therefore provides the options of:
- Customised Training - programmes which are fine-tuned by our trainers to achieve learning outcomes unique to the needs of an organisation or a project.
- On-site Training - designed for organisations for whom greater benefit can be obtained by having their employees trained at their workplace.
A number of organisations consult and work closely with APIIT's Corporate Training Account Managers to identify their IT training needs, and subsequently to develop and implement their organisational, departmental and individual IT training plans.
Contribution to Malaysian Human Resource Department
As a reflection of APIIT's role in the development of IT skills in the country, APIIT has been appointed an Authorised Training Provider (ATP) by the Human Resource Department Board under various training subsidy schemes. These include the following:
