March 25, 2006 : Masters Seminar
The APIIT & UCTI Postgraduate Department organised two seminars at our TPM campus. The first was a seminar on Technopreneurship, Creativity & Innovation which was held on 25 March 2006. It was delivered by Dr. Lee Zhuang who is the Director of China Partnerships for Staffordshire University; Director of International Activities for the Faculty of Business & Law; Principal Lecturer in Strategic Management, Faculty of Business & Law, Staffordshire University. The seminar attracted a total of 46 participants comprising members of the general public, APIIT final year undergraduate students and even some postgraduate students.
This lively and creative seminar focused on techniques to support the generation of innovative and creative approaches and solutions in relation to business opportunity in emerging technologies. This was followed by a presentation on “Enhancing Your Career Prospects with a Masters Degree from Staffordshire.
The second seminar entitled “Winning the Strategic War” was held at TPM on 27 May 2006 and saw a total of 35 participants from a cross-section of the business community as well as our existing student population.
The focus of the seminar was on strategic for effective project management and techniques in relation to successful project management in a business environment. This was delivered by Mr.Dave Link who is a Principal Lecturer for Staffordshire University; the Overseas Modular Masters Project Director; Engineering / Technology Placements Academic Manager; Award Leader-Dual Award in collaboration with University of Sudwestfalen, Germany; Consultant; and Project Manager.
This session took individuals through the whole concept and application of project management and working with limitationsin project management situations. The emphasis was on the quality that should be applicable to project management itself. This very entertaining session also included discussions about projects conducted overseas.
